Suncity View is a new restaurant located in Lonely Beach and managed by Miss Kiekie, a lovely woman whose big passion is cooking. The restaurant is located in the walking street of the village at Himmel Guesthouse. It’s opened daily from 10.30 am to 10.30 pm, all the year, even during the low season.
Trained and graduated from famous Thai cooking schools, Kiekie can prepare almost everything with style. Some of her dishes could be served in a fine dining restaurant.
Kiekie likes to create new types of food, something unique and tasty, full of flavours, beautiful for the eyes but healthy too. Healthy cooking is one of her main concern. The result is that her food is very good, not expensive at all and diversified, from the traditional Pad Thai to the Western Burger. All re-visited in her own way and style.
For about 50 baht you can get for example a dish with crab salad rolls and an omelette, which is quite cheap.
If you feel lazy to go out, you can also order your meals. There are different menus which are often changed. Over 6 boxes or more than 300 baht the delivery is free of charge. And the best thing is that if you have a fridge or a freezer you can store those boxes inside and warm them later in a microwave.
If you are wondering why the rice is dark red, it's just a new variety of rice from Thailand called "riceberry" with a lot of nutrition properties. This rice is advised to people having food-related chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, high blood cholesterol, obesity and cancers.
Miss Kiekie has also followed several trainings to be able to create any type of cocktails. With or without alcohol, her drinks are awesome. Traditional Thai iced tea, one of my favourite soft drinks, but also smoothies, fruit shakes, Breezer cocktails or other alcoholic drinks, they are just all so good and refreshing.
I would say that the most amazing are the snow-ices, a huge mountain of flavoured ice covered with sweet sauces, creams and other delicious toppings and surrounded by home made cakes and fresh fruits. For about 140-300 baht you will get a huge dessert. If you compare the price to the size, it's quite cheap and if you succeed to eat it all, you won't need another one.
If you don't have a so big appetite, you can try the other desserts, they are as delicious.
